Giving Africa
Read on for probably the biggest challenge of my life so far...

On October 6th 2011 I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, all 5896 meters (19344 feet) with 23 others and between us we raised a staggering £94,000! It was the most amazing yet challenging thing I’ve ever done! The reason for me doing this – In the summer of 2010 I spoke to Craig Goldblatt, founder of Giving Africa. He told me about his visits to West Africa, Burkina Faso specifically. His Passion, compassion, desperation and determination for this forgotten  place grabbed me. Giving Africa have already set the next Mt. Kilimanjaro challenge for September 2012. Go to www.givingafrica.org for more information

Giving Africa recognises a lack of education plays a massive part in its future. Without education the people of Burkina Faso will have to continue to rely on the likes of you and me, although they are very grateful...the situation is less than perfect.

I could talk for hours about the children that have to walk for hours, daily, to receive an education or how the lack of education limits their choices but what I like to focus on is how extremely grateful they are for it. Unfortunately only a select few have the privilege to the education available. This is one of the most illiterate parts of the world, with 1 in 10 girls unable to read
